Swift Biosciences is developing a suite of technology platforms to improve NGS sample preparation. These platforms are based on proprietary protocols and reagents invented by Swift. Among the applications under development:

  • DNA library creation
  • Targeted selection
  • RNA-seq

All of these applications share the features of being fast, easy and compatible with existing NGS instrumentation.

In February 2013, Swift launched the Accel-NGS™ DNA Library Kit for Ion Torrent, the first product in a new line of kits for NGS sample preparation. Using this kit, NGS users can produce PCR-free libraries with as little as 5 ng of input DNA. Unlike other kits on the market, the novel Swift technology utilized in this Accel-NGS Kit does not require intact double-stranded DNA, making it compatible with damaged samples.

In March 2014, Swift launched two new Accel-NGS DNA Library Kits for the Illumina platform. Now Illumina users can produce high quality libraries with significantly reduced DNA input requirements.

Incorporating novel, patent-pending technology, the Accel-NGS 2S DNA Library Kit enables users to produce libraries from as little as 10 pg of input with PCR and PCR-free libraries from just 100 ng. The Accel-NGS 2S kit offers exceptional quality and evenness of coverage and is ideally suited for clinical samples such as FFPE and plasma. The kit is also compatible with amplicons and the leading hybridization capture products.

Unlike the Accel-NGS 2S kit, the Accel-NGS 1S DNA Library Kit for the Illumina platform does not require intact double-stranded DNA. Users can produce high quality DNA libraries from as little as 2.5 ng with PCR and PCR-free libraries from 250 ng.
